What is Upholstery Leather?

Upholstery hides are chrome tanned. That makes the leather remain supple and receptive to color. Upholstery leather is strong and durable and with proper leather care, it will remain beautiful for many years.
Upholstery leather hides have many different finishes. The most common are: Smooth finish, Pull up, Embossed, Full aniline leather.

Pull up is a type of leather that has wax on top usualy added for protection. When you strech this leather, the wax gives to the hide an antiqued effect.

Embossed leather is stamped or rolled leather. The pressure gives to the hide a new grain on its surface.

Full Aniline leather, because of the way the dye it, it lets natural marks and finished scratches of the leather to be visible. It’s considered to be top quality leather.

All these hides are perfect for leather covers for chairs, tables, puffs, leather sofas, carpet, armchairs, furniture, automotive and yacht interiors. They are also suitable for other purposes such as leather shoes and bags.

All our Upholstery Leathers are premium quality and come from the best Italian Tanneries.

nice and soft feel to the leather

    Très beau cuir, transaction parfaite

Deceptive seller!! Sold damaged leather with 11" hole in the CENTER. The seller's photos did not show a GAINT hole in ANY images..tells me 'marks are considered a fine leather's characteristics.' Not when I can stick my leg through it! Gave me a break!! A slap in the face of your customer! After giving me the wrong return address she then refused to take it back because 'she doesn't take back sale items'. Also, total cut and paste for leather quality description.. Sold cheap bonded leather as 'high quality'.. I have never been able to scrape off the top layer of 'fine leather' .. Go somewhere else for your leather!

Lovely soft leather, easy to work with for chair seat upholstery. Shipping to Canada was very quick. The seller is helpful and responsive. Note: my 1/2 hide came with a 2cm cut/hole quite far from any of the edges which made laying out and cutting my patterns a bit more complicated. My guess is the hole cannot be avoided in the process but having no previous experience with cowhide - I just wasn't expecting it.
